Counselor needed for Less than 1 month
Opportunity Description: Camp Promise-West runs August 21-28, 2011 for counselors. Volunteer counselors are paired 1-to-1 with a camper with a neuromuscular disorder. Counselors work as cabins to provide the 24-hour care for their campers and assist them with activities. Counselors are trained on August 21 with campers arriving the following day. Camp Promise-West is the only camp in Washington State for kids, teens, and adults with neuromuscular disorders. Out-of-state volunteers welcome. Camp Nurse/Doctor needed for
Opportunity Description: RNs and MDs registered in Washington State are wanted to oversee the care, distribute medications, and handle first aid for 40 children, teen, and adult campers with neuromuscular disorders and their volunteer counselors. Volunteer medical staff will be provided with private lodging and are invited to participate in camp activities when not providing care. Camp Promise is the only camp in Washington State for kids, teens, and adults with neuromuscular disorders. Learn more and complete our online application at camppromise.org

Camp Promise is a weeklong camp for kids, teens, and adults with neuromuscular disorders. It is a program of the Jett Foundation, whose mission is to find treatments and a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) while improving the lives of those affected by DMD.
